Battling a weather delay, an intense training week, and a slippery course, the Hillsdale Chargers still managed a well-executed victory at the Hillsdale Invitational. The team had a perfect score of 15 points, finishing ahead of Lake Superior State University (56) and Northwood University (69).

Sophomore Maryssa Depies won the meet with a time of 18:39.9.

The rain held off for the duration of the race, but the damage was already done from the earlier downpour, leaving the hilly course slick and muddy.  Junior Arena Lewis battled the best she could through the fields, finishing second overall in 19:04.2, despite a slight slip down one of the hills.

Sophomore Christina Sawyer and senior Allysen Eads took third and fourth overall, running 19:27.8 and 19:38.3, respectively.

The next pack of Chargers to cross the finish line was sophomore Lauren Peterson (19:58.4), junior Addison Rauch (20:03.6), and sophomore Megan Poole (20:06.6).

The team showed its grit and determination as the rest of the group fought hard to maintain a perfect score. Rounding out the race was freshman Claire McNally (20:20.2), junior Kate Vanderstelt (20:26.3), and freshman Amber Mango (20:45.5).
