October 20, 2012 - Freshman Emily Oren wrapped up an All-Conference honor at her first-career GLIAC championship meet Saturday afternoon.
Oren was the Chargers' top runner, finishing the 6K race in 21:48.1, good for 12th place overall. Oren has stepped into the Hillsdale lineup and delivered a strong season so far for Hillsdale College.
Grand Valley State won another conference title on the women's side, placing four runners in the top six overall. The Lakers' eased their way to the title with 25 points, 59 ahead of second-place Ferris State. Wayne State, Northern Michigan and Saginaw Valley State finished out the top five, each finishing ahead of the Chargers.
Junior Victoria McCaffrey was Hillsdale's No. 2 runner at the meet, finishing 20th with a time of 22:15.6. Freshman Kristina Galat was 27th overall, followed by Chelsea Kilgore and Shena Albaugh in the Chargers' top five.
