The Hillsdale College women's tennis team is undefeated thus far in the 2018-19 season, and one of its seniors played a big part in that statement still being true today.
Senior Madeline Bissett has put together one of the highest winning percentages in the program's history since it re-started in 2011, and Wednesday afternoon, her success was justly recognized. She was named the G-MAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week, the second time in her career she has won that distinction. The award was announced and chosen by the conference office.
In a 4-3 road win over Lewis Saturday night, Bissett picked up a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles, then teamed up with her longtime partner Kamryn Matthews for a 6-2 victory at No. 3 doubles. Both of those wins were crucial in the slim win over the Flyers, another key regional victory for the Chargers.
Bissett is 3-0 overall this season and in 2018, played a key role in Hillsdale's conference championship team by compiling a 29-7 record in singles and doubles action.
She is the 25th different Charger athlete to be named G-MAC Player of the Week during the 2018-19 school year.
