September 6, 2013 - The long winning streak carried by the Hillsdale College women's tennis team, which extended back into the middle of the 2012 season, came to a sudden end Friday afternoon in Detroit.
The Chargers lost an 8-1 decision to Wayne State University, one of the GLIAC's traditional power programs in the sport.
The Warriors won all six singles flights, and the top two doubles matchups. The most competitive match of the day came at No. 1 doubles, where Wayne State's Anne Li Briand and Yahsha Moore barely won a 9-8 decision over Hillsdale's Morgan and Sydney Delp. The Chargers lost a 7-5 tiebreaker in the match, which was the first time the Delp sisters played together as a doubles combo.
