The Charger softball team dropped a pair of games to old GLIAC rivals in its first day of its Spring Break schedule in Clermont, Florida Friday morning.
Hillsdale was held to two hits in a 4-0 loss to Ashland in the opener. In the second game, Grand Valley State used a walk-off single to pull out a 2-1 win. Hillsdale now stands at 2-5 on the season.
In the second game, junior Sam Catron singled home Sarah Wojcik for the team's lone run, coming in the third inning. Katie Kish and Sydney San Juan, the top two batters in the order, each picked up base hits.
