For the third time this season, Hillsdale College junior Joseph Humes was named the Great Midwest Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week. The award was announced and chosen by the conference office Tuesday evening.
A frequent winner throughout the fall, Humes came in fourth place in a competitive Pre-National Meet hosted by Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania over the weekend. He turned in the best time of all G-MAC runners with a 25:17. He helped the Chargers to a seventh-place finish at the 29-team event.
Humes has been named conference athlete of the week more often than any other Charger this year, and his is the 17th time a Hillsdale College athlete has won a G-MAC weekly honor already this fall.
The cross country teams are off this weekend, preparing for the 2018 G-MAC Championships, being held in Canton, Ohio November 3.
