Facing a large field of competitors over the weekend, members of the Charger men's tennis team made a good showing at the ITA Regionals, hosted by Grand Valley State.
Freshman Tyler Conrad was victorious in the B draw singles, earning wins over two different players from Missouri-St. Louis and players from Bellarmine and Wayne State in that draw. He rallied for a 4-6, 6-4, 10-7 win in the bracket finals. It was a very promising showing for one of the team's talented freshmen.
Conrad teamed up with sophomore Brian Hackman on the doubles side, and they advanced to the B draw semifinals before bowing out. They picked up victories over teams from Purdue Northwest, Grand Valley State and Maryville, making a nice impact in that portion of the tournament.
