Golfers Finish 18th at Rain-Shortened Purgatory Regional

Results

The Charger golf team played part of the day Monday at the Purgatory Regional Monday afternoon, but steady rain and thunderstorms wiped out the entire second round for the 28-team field at the two-day event, held in Noblesville, Indiana.

As a result, only the first-round scores counted in the final results. Hillsdale shot 312 as a team, finishing tied for 18th overall. Grand Valley State won the tournament with a 285, with Saginaw Valley State and Indianapolis rounding out the top three competing teams.

Peter Beneteau paced Hillsdale's group of five with a single-round score of 75. Three players all carded a 79 in their only round - Liam Purslowe, Joe Torres and Logan Kauffman. George Roberts' 80 rounded out the team's scorers at the event.
