The newest addition to the Charger volleyball coaching staff is someone already familiar with the program, from several angles.
Jenna Way began in her role as assistant coach in August 2017. She comes to Hillsdale after a very successful career with Ferris State University’s volleyball program. She played for the Bulldogs from 2012-16 and was part of three GLIAC regular season champions and three GLIAC tournament championship teams. Only Hillsdale, from 2009-11, won three consecutive conference tournament titles before the Bulldogs did it the past three years. Way’s 2013 team won the NCAA Midwest Regional and qualified for the Elite Eight.
During her junior campaign of 2015, Way’s Bulldogs were ranked No. 1 in NCAA Division II during the regular season.
Way was a setter at Ferris State and graduated in May 2016 with a major in dental hygiene. In July 2017, Way was a co-recipient of the Willie Bouyer Leadership Award, which is emblematic of strong inspirational leadership and dedication to Ferris State student-athletes.
Her older sister Sumer played for Hillsdale from 2002-05 and was part of the program’s first two teams that qualified for the NCAA Tournament.
