September 21, 2012 – The Hillsdale College volleyball team employed a few lineup changes for Friday's GLIAC match against Ohio Dominican University, and they helped produce a positive result for the Chargers.

With three players playing different positions from a week ago, the Chargers played excellent volleyball for three sets, topping the Panthers 3-1 Friday night at Jesse Philips Arena. Hillsdale is now 3-8 overall and 2-1 in the GLIAC and will host TiffinSaturday at 2 p.m.

Sophomore Alexis Waugh had come into matches after a rotation in the past, but started each set in this one, and had a fine match. Waugh had a career-high 23 assists to go along with two service aces and two digs. Both of her aces came at the beginning of set four, which saw Hillsdale jump out to an 8-0 lead, maintaining the momentum it built off a 25-12 win in the third set.

As a team, Hillsdale had 11 service aces, with six different players figuring into that category. Freshman Emily Wolfert led the team with three during her most dominating performance of her young career. 

Wolfert moved from middle hitter to outside hitter, and delivered 14 kills an a .367 hitting percentage. She showed eye-opening skill and power hitting from this new spot.

Hillsdale won set one 25-15, but struggled with its passing in the second set and lost 25-19 after trailing 18-10. The passing came back together in set 3 for Hillsdale in a 25-12 win, setting up the team's steamrolling finish.

Senior middle hitter Lauren Grover had an outstanding match for Hillsdale with nine kills, three solo blocks and five block assists. She also found herself serving in this revamped lineup and had a service ace and five digs.

Junior Sydney Lenhart had a team-high 17 digs at libero, while junior Caitlin Kopmeyer delivered eight kills and 15 digs in another consistent performance. Sophomore Bailey Lindner came into the match as a sub and gave the team excellent passing and defensive coverage in the fourth set of the match.
