The Charger's women's track team continued impressive finishes at the Gladstein Invitational this weekend held at Indiana University.

Competing against NCAA division I athletes, many Chargers posted top-10 finishes. Sophomore Emily Oren finished sixth in the mile invitational run with a time of 5:09.24. Her time was less than a tenth of a second short of the top time. She also posted a 2:19.40 time in the 800 meter run to take seventh in the event. Junior Shena Albaugh took the next slot behind Oren in the 800 meter with a time of 2:19.83.

Two sophomores finished in the top ten in the mile run. Kristina Galat took eighth with a time of 5:09.24 and Kathryn Royer took ninth with a 5.09.45, less than a hundredth of a second difference.

Freshman Alexandra Whitford took ninth in the pole vault, reaching 3.65 meters. The 4x800 meter relay team (Jr. Amy Kerst, Royer, Galat, and Freshman Molly Oren) finished tenth with at time of 9:48.23.

Also having impressive performances,  the 4x400 relay team (So. Corinne Zehner, Fr. Allison Duber, Fr. Jessica Hurley, and So. Danielle Gagne) took 14th with a time of 3:59.01. Freshman Julia Bos also took 14th in the 5000 meter run, timing 18:18.17. Duber continued her success in the 400 meter run, finishing 15th with a time of 59.89 seconds.

The Chargers will continue their season in at the Grand Valley State University Winter Classic Feb.1, held in Allendale, MI.
