February 2, 2013 - Few things are as sweet for a coach to see as his athletes finishing in first place in a track meet, regardless of the venue or competition. Charger women's track coach Andrew Towne had a lot to smile about Friday night.

Hillsdale stormed its way to four first places and two seconds at the Findlay Open. A single relay team competed once again Saturday at the D-II Challenge in Geneva, Ohio and hosted by Lake Erie College.

The Chargers were strong in the field events Friday, with three first-places. Senior Adrianna Yancho (pictured at right) took first in the high jump, clearing 1.68 meters (5 feet, 6 inches).

Two more senior field athletes took top honors at the meet. Thrower Kathy Dirksen won the shot put, easily winning with a toss of 13.17 meters. Senior Kayla Caldwell resumed her winning ways in the pole vault with a height of 4 meters (13-1 1/2).
