October 19, 2012 - It what was meant to be the final home match of the regular season turned sour for several reasons for the Hillsdale College tennis team Friday.
More wet weather forced the Chargers' match with Grand Valley State University indoors to Toledo, taking away Hillsdale's last chance to compete at home this season. Such moves will not be necessary next season, thanks to the opening of the Margot V. Biermann Center.
The Lakers halted the Chargers' seven-match winning streak with an 8-1 victory Friday. Hillsdale concludes the regular season with a 9-5 record and now looks ahead to next weekend's GLIAC Tournament, hosted by the Midland Community Tennis Center.
Freshman Sydney Delp won her first set at No. 3 singles, but lost two hard-fought sets to lose her match.
More information about the conference tournament will be forthcoming next week.
