September 28, 2012 - The most dramatic dual match of the 2012 Hillsdale College women's tennis season took place Friday evening in Columbus, Ohio, and the Chargers couldn't have been happier.

Aided in part by a pair of thrilling comeback wins in the singles flights, the Chargers defeated a team ahead of them in the standings, Ohio Dominican University, 5-4 in a GLIAC matchup. Hillsdale is now 2-3 overall and in the GLIAC, and will face Ashland on its three-day tour through the state of Ohio Saturday.

Freshman Sydney Delp (pictured) came back from losing set 1 6-3 to defeat her opponent Aline Mariano 6-4 and 7-6. That comeback was vital in the team's slim win over an Ohio Dominican team that had been over .500 on the season.

Delp and fellow freshman Lindsay Peirce teamed up for an 8-2 win at No. 2 doubles for Hillsdale. Peirce won a pretty dramatic match herself at No. 4 singles, 7-6, 7-6.

Senior Brittany Parks played tough in a 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 come-from-behind win at No. 1 singles. Sophomore Morgan Delp powered her way to another win at No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-3. Delp is a team-best 4-1 in singles matches this season.
