One collegiate meet, one conference weekly award.
Not a bad start for Hillsdale College freshman Hannah Wilkens.
Two individual wins in her first college meet helped Wilkens be named the G-MAC Women's Swimming Athlete of the Week. The award was announced and chosen by the conference office Tuesday afternoon.
Wilkens was out strong in the 500 freestyle and held the lead the entire time to first place, winning by 10 seconds (5:16.47). She also lead the way in the 200 freestyle to get first place (1:58.20) winning by a second and a half. In the 200 IM, she took a close second place (2:16.99) but had the fastest butterfly and freestyle splits of the meet. Finally, she had the fastest split in the 200 freestyle B relay (26.37).
