Hillsdale College sophomore swimmer Anika Ellingson will get a chance to compete against the very best in NCAA Division II next month.
Ellingson has qualified for the 2017 NCAA Division II Women's Swimming & Diving Championships, to be held in Birmingham, Alabama March 8-11. She will compete in the 100 and 200 breaststroke events.
Ellingson's qualifying time of 1:02 in the 100 was good for 24th of 28 qualifying swimmers in that event. Qualifying in one event also opened up a chance for her to compete in a second event, which will be the 200 breaststroke.
She is the first Charger selected to compete at the NCAA championships since Rachael Kurtz earned back-to-back All-AMerican honors at the 2014 and 2015 national meets.
