Junior Brittany Gray picked the perfect game to have her best outside shooting game of her career. And Monday afternoon, she was rewarded for it.
Gray earned the final Great Midwest Athletic Conference Player of the Week honor of the 2017-18 season. it was her second this year and 32nd weekly honor earned by a Hillsdale College athlete this school year.
In the 2018 G-MAC Women's Basketball Tournament Championship Game Saturday, Gray led Hillsdale with 22 points as the Chargers won the title with an 81-70 win over Findlay at Cedarville University. She connected on six 3-point baskets - a career-high - to lead Hillsdale to its third conference tournament championship in program history.
Gray averaged 15.3 points per game as the Chargers ran through the tournament's number 4, 1 and 3 seeds, winning each game by double digits.
Gray averaged 12.8 points per game this season, shooting nearly 40 percent from 3-point land for the 2018 G-MAC champions. She and her teammates will face No. 1-ranked Ashland in the Midwest Regional Quarterfinal at 5:00 Friday at Ashland.
