November 3, 2012 - The 2012-13 Hillsdale College women's basketball team suited up for the first time Saturday night, although it was in an unofficial capacity.
The Chargers lost an exhibition game to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, 88-55. Hillsdale officially opens the new season at home Tuesday, Nov. 20 versus Urbana University.
Ten players saw at least 10 minutes of playing time for the Chargers, as coach Claudette Charney got her first look at her young squad on a foreign court.
Sophomore forward Megan Fogt, one of the team's most promising prospects, led Hillsdale with 13 points and 11 rebounds while shooting 6-for-11 from the floor. Fogt was one of Hillsdale's most efficient rebounders in limited playing time last year, and she's likely to receive an expanded role this season.
Freshman Ashleyn Landherr was the lone first-year player to start in the game for the Chargers, and had five rebounds and a team-high five assists.
Junior Angela Bisaro started at forward and finished with eight points, while junior Lyndsay LaCourse and freshman Kayla Geffert each had seven. Freshman Sarah Theut, who briefly played against her older sister Sammy in this game, had three assists and two rebounds in 14 minutes on the court.
