Entering its first season in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference, the Hillsdale College softball team is expected to contend for the league title, according to the preseason coach's poll.

Hillsdale was picked to finish third in the 13-team G-MAC this season according to the poll, released Monday morning. The team received one first-place vote. Defending conference tournament champ Kentucky Wesleyan was picked first, followed by Cedarville University.

The Chargers return their entire pitching staff and six position players starters from a year ago, and figure to have improved pitching depth in the 2018 season thanks to a talented freshman class. Senior Kelsey Gockman, juniors Katie Kish and Amanda Marra and sophomores Dana Weidinger, Sam Catron and Sydney San Juan all have all-conference accolades under their belts and return to the team this season.

The complete preseason poll can be found in the grid below.
