Nathan Miller joined the Hillsdale College track coaching staff in September 2014. A very successful collegiate high jumper himself, Miller will work with the Chargers' sprinters, jumpers and hurdlers.
In Miller, the Chargers have a coach who has been through the track and field circles in the GLIAC. He is a graduate of Grand Valley State University, where he earned a bachelor of science in exercise science with a clinical emphasis. He most recently coached at Northwood University in Midland, Michigan.
While competing for the Lakers, Miller was a four-time GLIAC champion in the high jump and earned All-American honors in that event in 2008, when he finished third at the NCAA Division II championships. He was a Dynasty (Captain’s) Council member with GVSU from 2008-10.
“Nate is one of the best young sprints/jumps coaches out there,” Towne said. “He is a very detailed technician and a very enthusiastic teacher. Without a doubt, he’ll help me make our entire sprints/hurdles/jumps group better than it’s ever been.”
Miller served as the interim track and field coach at Northwood in 2012-13, and spent two seasons as an assistant with the Timberwolves working with the sprinters, hurdlers and jumpers.
