THE SERIES: This is the first-ever meeting between these football programs

OVERVIEW: History will be made at Frank "Muddy" Waters Stadium Saturday afternoon as the Hillsdale College football team plays its first-ever Great Midwest Athletic Conference game...It is also Hillsdale's homecoming game, as the Chargers welcome Ketucky Wesleyan College for the first-ever matchup between these schools on the gridiron...All four of Hillsdale's games have been decided by one score or less, and all have come down to the last three minutes of regulation time before a winner was assured...The Panthers had a bye week last week and are one of three existing football programs in the G-MAC before Hillsdale, Lake Erie, Ohio Dominican, Walsh and Findlay joined this season...The Chargers will try to end a two-game losing skid, both losses coming to GLVC teams...Last week's loss at #10 Indianapolis was particularly frustrating, as the Chargers came back from a 23-0 second-quarter deficit to tie the game at 38, only to lose on a pick-6 with two minutes left in the game...In that loss, junior QB Chance Stewart set a single-game school and conference record with 485 passing yards...Junior WR Trey Brock was named the G-MAC Offensive Player of the Week after setting single-game school and conference records with 302 receiving yards...Brock's 302 yards is the most by any wide receiver in the NCAA Division II this season...Hillsdale's offense also set a single-game school record with 650 total yards...These two teams are the G-MAC's two stingiest defenses in terms of average total yards allowed per game, KWC is No. 1 allowing 307 yards per game, while the Chargers are No. 2 averaging 373.8 yards allowed per game...Hillsdale's rush defense is No. 1 in the G-MAC, permitting 125.8 yards per game, 32 per game fewer than any other conference team...Both of these programs have wide receivers on actuve NFL rosters...Andre Holmes, a 2011 Hillsdale College graduate, is in his sixth NFL season and plays for the Buffalo Bills...KWC graduate Keenan Cole is in his rookie season with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
