Freshman James Krick hit his first career home run, a two-run shot in the top of the fourth that scored Alex Walts, who reached on an error. Boerst smacked two doubles as part of a 3-for-4 game at the plate. Freshman Rob Zurawski also went 2-for-3 in the nightcap.
