Baseball Team Enters Fall Ball Season

Baseball Team Enters Fall Ball Season

As it prepares for its first season in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference, the Charger baseball team has a busy slate of fall exhibition games, practices and other activities lined up.

Hillsdale takes the field for a road exhibition game at Division I Illinois State University at noon Central Time Sunday, Sept. 24. ISU will provide Hillsdale with a stern test, as competition in the Missouri Valley Conference stacks up well against any Power 5 Division I conference.

The Chargers will then take some time out for a fun home run derby as part of Homecoming Weekend. Over the past two years, Hillsdale players have clubbed 118 home runs as the team qualified for postseason play in back-to-back years for the first time in program history. There will be a DJ and the Student Activities Board is slated to hold a tailgate as part of the derby, which starts at 5:00 p.m.

The weekend of Oct. 7-8 will see Hillsdale host Albion College, then Kalamazoo College for exhibition games starting at noon both days.

The team's annual fall classic will span from Sunday Oct. 15-Wednesday, Oct. 18, with three intra-squad games spread across four days.

Fall season ends with a co-ed Halloween Game with the Charger softball team to be played on Tuesday, Oct. 31 at Simpson Field.
