Josh Calver is the newest addition to the Hillsdale College athletic administration staff, filling the role of assistant athletic director for business management and compliance. He began his duties on December 7, 2016.
Calver comes to Hillsdale from the Lansing Lugnuts baseball club, where he worked for five years in a wide variety of roles. Most recently, he was team relations manager, with responsibilities that included the box office and the team's financial operations. He also worked for the Lugnuts as the box office manager.
He was a college basketball player, having suited up for the Heidelberg University men's basketball team from 2006-10. He majored in accounting with a sport management business track. During his undergrad career, he was a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee, was twice named team captain and was a two-time all-conference selection. He was also the recipient of the Paul E. Hoeremann Character & Leadership Award.
After Heidelberg, Calver earned his master's degree in business administration from Tiffin University in 2013.
His new role at Hillsdale is a fitting next step for Calvert, who has spent much of his life around athletics at botht he high school and college levels. He worked as an assistant basketball coach at Marietta College in 2010-11, and previously worked for the Lake Erie Crushers minor league baseball team as a box office assistant. He also acuired considerable experience working with high school tournaments in the Ohio High School Athletic Association.
Josh is married to his wife Stephanie.
