In August 2016, Andrew Bacon joined the Hillsdale College athletic training staff. Bacon comes to Hillsdale after spending three years as an assistant athletic trainer at Defiance College in Ohio.
Bacon worked primarily with Defiance's football and lacrosse teams during his tenure. He taught Introduction to Athletic Training classes and served as a mentor and supervisor for athletic training students as a Clinical Perceptor in Defiance's athletic training program.
Bacon earned his bachelor's of science degree from Ohio State University in 2011, and finished his master's work in kinesiology at Michigan State University in 2013. He is an American Red Cross certified CPR/First Aid Instructor, and is a member of the Ohio Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy Athletic Trainers Board.
Prior to enrolling at Ohio State, Bacon was enlisted in the United State Marine Corps, where he served our country from 2001-2005. He was recognized with the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal. He ascended to the rank of Lance Corporal and Corporal thanks to his outstanding service. He was honorably discharged after four years of active duty and one year of reserve duty.
